I came back to Japan, at 3 p.m. Japan time yesterday. I could nothing because I was tired, so all I could do was to take a bath and sleep ^-^; I’m going take action lively from tomorrow. There is a festival near my house tomorrow; I’m going to carry a portable shrine with my childhood friend. It looks fun, right??
Looking back upon my tour, I learned a lot of things. First, I could brush up my English skill, especially speaking because I had many chances to speak English and teachers and mentors taught me many phrases. Second, I could see a lot of things which I wanted to see, for example, The white House, Lincoln Memorial, etc.
Of course, American restaurants and chatting with all members were really fun,too ^-^♪ Third, it was most important for me, I could rediscovery good and bad points of Japanese culture as I went to America because it is difficult for us to understand own country’s culture while being own country, right? So, I want to say is the tour gave me opportunities to think over about many things. Anyway, I cannot talk about everything, so we have to meet up again ^o^!! I’m going to keep in touch with you with this blog and facebook, too!
Maybe I ask how to use fasebook…

Hello Ai, it is great to see your post! I do agree that to see our own culture objectively, it is useful to leave it for a while. "A fish only becomes conscious of the water it swims in when it finds itself in the air."

The weather here is spectacular today: in the 80s, cool, sunny and dry. Why couldn't we have more days like this when you were here??
I have a 3 day weekend before going back to MEI. I am cataching up on laundry, cooking, etc. Last night I made pizza, and the day before spinach lasagna! My family are happy to have me back. But I miss "my kids".

Well, making a comparison between your own culture and the different one which is, in this case, the American's is ineresting, isn't it? It gives you some views for cultural understandings. Anyway, it's probably helpful for you to log in to Facebook, and try clicking the bar or links on the website. It's like a mixi in English without leaving "ashiato" It'll help you see what it is.Oh, by the way, do you have an ID for mixi? There's a group(community, I should say..) for all the participants for AGU program. So, if you have your own ID, please try looking for the group. ^^ Last year's participants would like to communicate with you guys via not only Facebook, but also mixi! (And hopefully, face to face! ^^)

I am glad that you got a lot of things out of the past two weeks. For many people, it is easy to just look at what is offered as a tour and not think about anything else. As for you, you have learned and gained many things from the experience! I'm sure these experiences will take you far in the future (toward success!)
Let me know if you're having troubles with facebook. Some of the kids have already successfully joined, so may be you can ask them too! I know that Shiori, Kotomi, Megu, and Kana have signed up successfully.
